The Department of Animal Services received this update on its Facebook page from a family who recently adopted a dog and they included cute pictures!

“We adopted our boxer, now named Gus, from you guys recently and just wanted you to know he is the most perfect guy! We had a great experience there and we love him so much. He has made himself right at home and found a bestie in our other pup! Thank you guys for all that you do!”

From an email regarding Fire Prevention Specialist Stephen Ware:

“I would like to commend County Fire employee, Stephen, who installed my pool alarm in Jamul this morning. Stephen was very knowledgeable, friendly, and informative on other programs the County is offering to keep our home fire safe. Stephen is a wonderful representation of San Diego County Fire and deserves to be recognized for his excellent customer service and pride for the communities he serves.”

County Fire Station 44 in Pine Valley

Fire Station 44 crews were dispatched to Pine Valley on Dec. 11 for a call about a man who was unresponsive. Arriving firefighter paramedics began immediate CPR and life saving measures. The patient had to be revived three times as he was driven to the hospital. The former law enforcement officer, who is now in recovery, stopped by the fire station to bring a token of appreciation. Photos of the special moment were posted to Instagram. Here’s what one commenter said:
